My PurpleHeart and Curly Maple boards are made entirely from these two very extraordinary hardwoods. PurpleHeart is an imported exotic from South America. It's natural color is a vibrant purple. Denser than most hardwoods, PurpleHeart is very tight grained and heavy. Curly Maple is a native maple hardwood with a distinct and rare grain pattern. The grain appears rippled or translucent, hence the name Curly or Tiger Maple. The combination of these two striking hardwoods together in a cutting board is truly a remarkable creation. Each board is 1 3/4 inches thick with a rounded top edge and rubber feet screwed into the bottom. Hand sanded to a fine finish and two coats of my oil and beeswax formula is applied. Available in Small, Medium, Large and Extra-Large sizes.
